It continually amazes me, the dedication and motivation driving Tech@NYU and the resulting magic that pours out.

We don't pay anyone. We're nearly all full-time students. Yet we run this ship like we're on a mission.

To me, it's that we're revolutionizing technology in NYC. We are building a culture and community that didn't exist two years ago. And it's the people. We play hard and ship. Nothing is more invigorating than surrounding yourself with people who make awesome things.

Why Tech@NYU?

Because everyone is smart and driven and funny, and meetings are a lot of laughs, and they motivate you to work twice as hard on your own stuff because you see the amazing things everyone else is doing and it drives you. Also, sometimes there's pizza.

organizations become what they glorify. Tech@NYU glorifies shipping. other clubs glorify winning beauty paegeants (errr, i mean business plan competitions) and talking about shipping. but if you SHIP at tech@NYU, the organization recognizes you for it.

look at what tech@NYU does - it runs events that teach people to ship, then every month gives them a stage to show what they've done. you want to get on stage? cool. do something first. i think the impact of this cannot be overstated.

Yeah, it seems like what Tech@NYU does best is to get out of the way -- what I mean by that is, the club sets up a platform for students to accomplish what they want to accomplish, build what they want to build, and then show it all off to their peers. Tech@NYU has very few club-centric events. It's all about the community and what they're building.

Because the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and innovation is not bound to school affiliation. And because everyone is driven by very diverse perspectives of what technology is and can be.

Because one time Chris Dixon left his jacket at our event and we almost put it up on eBay.

Also because we rap.

I think a lot of it is that people who want to ship stuff are attracted to people who are already shipping. When I came to NYU last year I definitely went to Tech@NYU events for that reason.

Because you can only hear so many guest speakers talking about entrepreneur-y stuff. Eventually it all comes down to JFDI.

Similar to what many have stated, when I came to Tech@NYU events and saw students building and shipping products, it became something I wanted to do. It makes you want to be a part of the community. This feeling I got has driven me to learn to code
