The Boxee TV seems so close but yet so far.
Right now I have my digital cable box (I don't use the DVR), a Vista Media Center box for dual-tuner basic cable DVR, a BluRay player with Netflix streaming (I can use my Wii or VMC for Netflix, too, but I don't think the quality is as nice on the Wii and the VMC Netflix plugin seems hacky. Using the browser is not ideal, either.) I can use either the VMC or the BR player to play attached media from the network or USB storage.
I want a single box that will stream anything, play any local media, and connect to cable and OTA with local DVR storage. Ideally without a monthly fee. Everyone keeps coming out with 'almosts' but no one has the total package.
