Was firing Humpty Dumpty just five games into the season a good move or a bad move?

Should they hire Phil Jackson, Mike D'Antoni, Jerry Sloan, Brian Shaw, Kurt Rambis, or a coach who is currently not in the mix?

Now that the dust has settled, and the artists formerly known as the Lakers have hired Mike D'Antoni, I'm going to say that Phil Jackson never really had a chance at the job.

I just don't think the Lakers would fire their coach without a sure thing in place. I think the Lakers courted Phil as a PR move so Lakers fans didn't totally turn on Buss.

I like Jackson's thug demands for the Lakers, but I think the Lakers organization anticipated problems maintaining control. Jackson's wants to act more like a part-time college coach than the typical NBA style. .

Either way, thanks Lakers, for making my week. Hopefully Jackson gets a call from my Clips soon.
