Kandinsky is a more accurate representation (art.sy). I do my best to hold to best practices (this is beneficial in reading and testing), however (as you and I have discussed) you're afforded a certain level of freedom / flexibility, which if used properly, is very powerful. Hence, the craziness of Kandinsky.

I'm definitely a romantic (in the classical sense). Or at least, I try to be. JMW Turner is my man.

I place heavy emphasis on technique, but little emphasis on rules. I value movement, so I try to minimize state wherever I can. Maybe that's why I dig functional languages and tango.

My codebases tend to spread wide versus deep, and my classes tend to stay light and fluid.

I'd describe my code as aspirational. It seeks sublime, and perhaps unattainable goals (TrafficGod, SeatGod). I get as close as I can, though. As with Turner, I will sketch before applying finger to keyboard. Maybe one day I'll approach his 30,000 sketches.

I couldn't agree more. Lines 39-54 of AntActor(github.com) in SeatGod remind me of Turner's Shipreck (upload.wikimedia.org) ... Took me a while to figure out what was going on, but it looks better that way.

David & Vivek, we all know that in JS, Java, Scala, when you are you writing an if/else statement, in which a "then" clause is one line, you can simply indent the clause, no brackets. Do you think, stylistically, this is appropriate when nested in other clauses or functions that require brackets?
