Anyone know of good family vacation spots in the mid-west? Looking for wilderness, hiking, maybe close to water, but need quality hotels and lots of kid-friendly activities. An airport that can be directly flown into from major US cities is also required. Anyone know of such a place?!?

You had me until "lots of kid-friendly activities" or "flown into from major US cities". Um. Yellowstone? Er....Black Hills, SD? Chicago? I will assume you do not mean Las Vegas.

Nashville! Or...Austin, TX? Kris lived in Minneapolis for less than a year and he's mentioned it would be a great place to visit in the summertime...
