One of the things that jumps out to me about the community is the support we all have for each other's companies and products. Whether its backing a Kickstarter project, checking in via Foursquare or using Tumblr and Trello over competing software, it seems like the entire community will use a product because it was Built in NYC. The energy and hype that creates is amplified by a general NYC effect, which allows for companies to rise above the noise a bit easier.
