I -being Dutch- tried a few times to understand Thanksgiving, but I never came further than some facts you can read on wikipedia. I never understood the feeling and there has to be one, right? It would be nice if someone tried to explain it to me.

(I have some experiences with Thanksgiving thanks to Americans and Canadians living in the neighborhood, but they either just tried to convince me to become Christian or said something about turkey's.)

Do you have any Dutch holidays where everyone in the family comes together from wherever to celebrate for a few days? Maybe like Christmas?

Thanksgiving is one of those in America, I'm sure it's not *too* hard to imagine. It consists for most of us of eating way too much food, seeing your family, and enjoying the resulting 'food coma'

A okay, that sounds like Christmas indeed although we mostly just celebrate that a few hours (split over the Christmas eve and the two days thereafter).

There are no presents at Thanksgiving right?
