Find Something You Enjoy...that's really been the key for me. I dig talking to teens and hearing what they have to say. It's usually some crazy ass shit but really it makes you think differently! That's a good thing!

Brian, Excellent post. I've been working in libraries since I graduated in college in 1980. (MA Librarianship 1985) I have never made a rock star salary although I came close while doing a stint managing a corporate library in the early 1990s. But I have always loved what I do.
Connecting with younger librarians has been one of the best ways I've learned this year.

Great post, Brian! Your post makes it look easy -- which is inspirational. I have found Twitter to be absolutely vital in my career -- since that was how my boss found me!

I'm being a bit slow to get my library rockstar on, but this time next year, my #bigproject (WordPress book) will be published which I feel is a first step. I am eager to get involved with the wider profession.
