There's a lot of competition amongst startups to offer the best perks but which really matter?

IMO - The perks that help me not worry about something in my everyday routine are the best. Disqus providing things like lunch and dinner save me a lot of time and stress which I really value.

Agree with you Talton, as long as it akes away unnecessary thinking out of my mind, they're perfect. More than that, not sure.

Yeah the day to day perks are what really sell a company for me. As long as I make enough to live comfortably the things that work for me are:

* Awesome people
* Catered lunches
* Custom hardware/Setup (let me choose my tools!!!)
* Good coffee
* Company outings every once in a while are chill
* Hack days (a must)

Working with an Intelligent and motivated team is the best perk a company can offer me.

Aside from the obvious perks, taking care of things everyone will need seem most valuable. For instance, we all use and need lots of tech. Buying hardware such as iPhones/Androids or MacBooks is helpful. I think Google offers credit every 6 months toward whatever phone or computer you want. (And credit builds over time.)

I don't have much add to the above other than a nod of agreement.

One perk I love is the ability to have a flexible schedule and plenty of time off. Like minded people is always a plus.

I don't really care for other perks.

I work in a public library. I'm a teen librarian so my job is to spend my time working with ages 12-19 year olds. One of the things we do every week is have a video gaming day where basically what I do that whole day is play video games with teens. It's pretty awesome.

Another great perk we have at my library: Our insurance covers $1000/year on massage, chiropractic care, and acupuncture EACH. This has helped me out quite a bit and I love having this as an option. I feel great.

I wish every health care package had something like it. Seriously, it helps KEEP me in my current job. I'm not going to debate whether each of these methods work or not but for myself, I just get so much out of it. I feel refreshed!

Flexibility is a major perk for me, working from home, taking time when I really need it, working in the way I find most productive and allowing me to set my own objectives. Also being part of the UK Bike to Work scheme is great as it basically gets me a bike at half price.
