Looper is one of the best movies I've seen in years, and easily the best time travel story I've ever encountered. Wholly unpredictable, & a completely original screenplay—no graphic novel roots, no book adaptations, just 100% creativity. There's more going on than meets the eye. If you care about critical reviews, it's still tracking a 94% approval rate on Rotten Tomatoes.
As for Cloud Atlas, it's amazing to see how such a creative, experimental novel could be adapted to screen equally as imaginatively. The Wachowskis / Tom Twyker cleverly leverage film as a medium to perfectly pace the intertwining stories and thus leave the viewer interested for the full 2 hours and 49 minutes. Even those new to the novel will be captivated.
I have been trying a new Thing where I try my best not to read any reviews our watch many trailers. It ends up spoiling the experience for me. It's so hard not to but I want to keep up with that.
That's what I did with Jack Reacher. I didn't read anything about it our see anything about it. A friend asked to go see it (He payed) and I enjoyed it a lot more. It's not an amazing movie at all but knowing nothing about it helped with expectations and I could enjoy it more. (Decent film if you don't want to think. Nothing ground breaking)
I want to see looper a few people have told me it's amazing. Have you checked out the Life of Pi?
Was that worth a watching?
