With the advent of the iPad Mini, I really have no need to use iPad. It's big and heavy. iPad Mini is the ideal size for my use. What about you?

I'm not sure I could get rid of the retina display. Size/weight isn't an issue for me.

Have you seen the iPad Mini screen? I think you mentioned that you saw it in an Apple Store. The pixels are half the size of the iPad 2; they look quite nice.

Yes I did see it last weekend. I loved the form factor, screen not so much. It's a beautiful device though for sure. I just can't see myself going backwards spec wise. I'll wait for refresh unless I get bored and want another device 😀

I'm loving the Mini. Even with the less-than-retina screen it's still a phenomenal little tablet. I've owned multiple 10-inch tablets and a few 7-8-inch tablets, and preferred the portability and "snuggle-factor" of the smaller tablets. The iPad Mini cements that opinion.

I'd love - LOVE - to have a Retina iPad Mini, but that's just not possible today with the thickness, weight, and battery life constraints of the Mini form factor. Probably not for another year or two, honestly. Until then, I'm perfectly content with the current Mini.

I agree that I don't think that the retina display will come soon. Apple won't comprise the lightness of the mini for retina- the weight is one of the main values of the iPad Mini.
