The 2013 spring release schedule is shaping up. My calendar (yes, I keep a calendar for this) already has Broadcast, Veronica Falls, Atoms for Peace, Edwyn Collins, and House of Love albums with release dates.

But for me, the forthcoming Factory Floor album (on DFA) is my most anticipated 2013 release. I've been dying for this album since first hearing their techno/industrial/modernist music a couple of years ago.

What are you looking forward to for 2013?

I don't have a lot of stuff I've been looking forward to, though I'm curious about a number of things you mentioned. The one album I have been anticipating is the new Pastels record. Their album with the Tenniscoats was very nice but it was no substitute for a real Pastels album. It's been so many years since they put out a new full-length and I am psyched.

I don't really know why, but I've never gotten into The Pastels. Seems strange considering everything else I like.

My list includes: Å, The Knife, Jamie Lidell, Matmos, Mountains, Pere Ubu's Lady From Shanghai.

Daft Punk!? (Is it gonna happen?)

I'm also hoping for a new album by Ikonika. And am too looking forward to Broadcast.

Of the ones mentioned, definitely the Knife. Also the Marnie album I pledged toward. And while I know it's different to everything else mentioned, I am really looking forward to the new Adam Ant.

(Note: I do not keep a calendar, so I don't know what else is coming out.)

Ah, right, I forgot to mention that new Knife album. Already have that marked on my calendar. That album is so highly anticipated, and so many bands have aped their sound, it'll be interesting to see what they do and how it's received.

And I also pledged to the Marnie album.

I suppose I should mention the forthcoming Autechre album, which I've already pre-ordered.

I've never gotten into Autechre and I keep meaning to, so 2013 may be the year for that.

I'm not going to lie, Autechre can verge into difficult listening territory, even for people who like that sort of IDM. I suggest starting with Amber.
