In art history, the style identifies visual patterns and compositional devices and effects of an artist or a group. But, contemporary art, because of its plurality, shows us that the notion of style isn't efficient anymore. Is style an apory? Is it possible to redefine it? These are questions I want to explore by now.

In my research, I am trying to promote the notion of "identity-artist" so as to renew the notion of style. My start point is that many contemporary art practices have strong relationships with life experience and everyday. This is not to prove any more. If we consider these relationships, the formal notion of style fails to learn about origins of forms, that is to say their subject. Style - as a methodological concept supposedly used by art historians to objectivize art - is like disconnected from subjectivity. It desimbodies artworks and forms, and picks out aesthetical experience - the most subjective component of an artistic production. Identity-artist focuses on the intrinsic link between subjective experience and pictorial emanations.
