How can we improve the Tampa Hip hop scene? Realistically. I asked you all because I value your opinion.

I think theres too many artist and not enough business men...not enough of those that have an understanding on how to build whats going on here into an industry...First thing we need to do is Centralize...theres no one place that we can direct everyone to that sufficiently pushes and markets local artist music that has an out reach beyond the tampa bay area...to get attention on whats going on here im a firm believer we have to work from the outside in

I feel you, on the not enough business men point, but I feel like Mieuxzine.com does a good job of representing what the area has to offer.
I think worldcomeup.com does a pretty good job of it too.
what do you suggest we do?

I personally think that mieuxzine has to open up to more artist not just be a florida blog cause it doesnt bring enough traffic or have enough post to be consistently seen on a news feed. Cause honestly most of the artist only look at it when theyre on it. Its good concept but local artist only give a shit bout promoting something when theyre on it...i would make it an independent artist blog and obviously be more biased toward the local homies but that way you will have more post , potentially consistent traffic etc from different markets giving the locals more visability.... and worldcomeup.com ive honest looked at it once and it wasnt appealing to the eye so i never went back

well i've never been on it but i watch every video and visit the tumblr page quite frequently but i think we should all work together to creats an empire and push each other's music and create true fans link up with artists from other areas so we all benefit from it all the OG'S teach the youngin's how to conduct themselves and "how to" what to do and not to do how to build a true fan base and gain new followers basically just we should have like a hiphop union where everybody tries to find the most productive way to get the bay on the map (marketing,promotion) etc.

you think atlanta got its big name by sitting around doing nothing and making boosting each other's heads up no they all work together and the artist that got on first worked with somebody else and exposed them to the media fan and it kept going like that till atlanta got one of the biggest names in hip hop music period everybody moves to atlanta to get signed when the true answer to getting known is not in atlanta it is in hard-work networking and team work.. well thats my opinion

Mieux isnt gonna change to an independent artist blog there is too many of those.
we have to start with a niche focus, that niche is florida indie artists, more focused on tampa indie artists
So besides expanding outside of florida, what do you think Mieux could do better to drive more traffic?

there doesnt matter how many there are , you gotta just do it better than everyone else...i get the intentions but ultimately if no one's coming to it or checking for it then it doesnt matter...i think mieux needs more promotion...there needs to more consistent post for more chances of interactions ..i just went through the timeline..and theres are average of 3 post per day on mieux twitter...how are you going to draw traffic or have retweets and interactions...

rodri i branched out that mieux conversation so we can continue it elsewhere, lets keep this branch focused on more than the blog aspect of the tampa scene

"music is life" --- im so "Anti" this whole we need to come together, unite movement that everyone talking because you only unite with those that have similar motives and that are like minded. I cant unite with people i dont believe in how they are handling their businss...artist too busy in the studio rather than getting out interacting and networking ....dropping all these mixtapes and not promoting them sufficiently with the intentions of building their fan base just putting shit out there so there friends who aint got nothing going on in their life dick ride them , play and boost their ego talking bout they running shit...no we unite and build empires when you have artist that established themselves and movements on their own

ohhh question i have how do we get people to actually support local hiphop shows? or how do we make them beneficial for the artist

i think we need more official sponsors for shows with benefits for the public to comeout . i dont think coming for a dope rap show is enough of a benefit for people to come support artist...it should be some "benefit" plus they happen to see rappers

the lioness spin on things... I feel the talent is there. There's a voice in tampa that has not been seen beyond "jook" music. The solution isn't to gang up and hype each other up but to work on business first. To acknowledge those that have talent and want to work not to just get "on".not for free shit. Its a business .I think this area is so clicky. As artists we should focus on true foundations . Such as proper business etiquette. Then from there we can grow.

everyone needs to get educated on this business side of things.. i dont want this area to look like idiots when they take their good creations elsewhere and get bamboozled... once we can get the majority to concentrate on that then "how to look like we gotta buzz"... we can progress in hosting our own events.. sponsoring our services... and axully moving in a direction that benefits than just ... "blah".

First and foremost.. people all over the world rather see their artist put on a show for $5-$10 than to buy/download the album/single for $5-$10.. So hosting an event is Key to molding the platform (Once business is legit). Securing the music quality(Sound, DJ/Engineer, Artists, Equipment, etc.) pre planning the more beneficial promoting Digital/Physical, and promptly executing.
The MIEUX should do a big show every 6 months-year sponsored by MIEUX-affiliates and friends, Including ARTISTS who are MIEUX favorites and favorites of MIEUX's followers... IDEALY hand picked thru MIEUX STAFF... THIS COULD WORK!...

I'm sure they see us peeps all the time thru twitter Fb ytube n all but don't axully get to see us put the best we can to their faces...
