Hi guys I thought it would be a great idea to start a converstion about the state of men's swimwear fashion. Where do you think its at and where do you see it going. What are your like and dislikes?

This was a really good article on how society views men's underwear.

Trends in men's swimwear is moving towards short square-cuts. In most parts of the states, most guys are still wearing long board shorts. I believe it will go in phases. The trend is going to shorter board shorts and eventually to square-cuts. It will take bold men and mainstream designers to push this trend as the "masculine" option. Once guys are comfortable with slightly shorter/smaller, they will be able to go to the next shorter/smaller style....
I agree I see more guys wearing short shorts not just on the beach but even out around town where it would have been taboo or out of place two or three years ago. So its only a matter of time until they become smaller. The dream is that speedo/briefs/thong swimwear for men is right next to boardshorts in surf shops and retail outlets.
