I don't agree that I hate PowerPoint presentations, Tom. But, I *do* hate bad presentations using whatever tools, or none! Presenting ideas is about communication and that needs to be persuasive and passionate. I work in marketing and it is interesting to see how readily 'marketer' could be substituted for 'presenter' in your manifesto and it still be meaningful. I do not agree with the oft-quoted "we are all marketers now" (e.g. McKinsey amongst many others mckinseyquarterly.com), but there is an element of truth in that claim when it comes to presenting.
Personally, I use Guy Kawasaki's 10/20/30 rule to guide me in building presentations (see blog.guykawasaki.com).
Overused word, but the manifesto inspired me ... to think, at least!
