Well, from I've read, this particular moderator's actions were becoming more and more questionable. Every time someone actually said something was up, he'd ban them.
It looks like there was a flood of that today, culminating in him shutting down the subreddit and all of us moving over to r/HFX.
Anyway, seems like its all worked itself out; hopefully other displaced redditors will find their way over to r/HFX.

Primary mod had a meltdown, and decided to take the entire subreddit down with him, unfortunately.
/r/HFX is the "relocation location". Please, pass the word to anyone who was shut out of /r/halifax. We're trying to get word to as many people as possible. /r/halifax was an awesome community, and we want it to continue on, just at a slightly different URL.
