I found that Venmo does the best job to fund your account in one business day, free of charge. You do have to:

1. Have already verified your checking account with Venmo
2. Have a balance on Venmo

If you don't have a balance on Venmo, you could send the money (through Venmo) to a good friend and ask him/she to immediately send it back to you and boom!

That's awesome. I love Simplify. But I'm increasingly enchanted by the way Square is going about distribution for payments. And it requires only a credit card linked to my savings/checking account. Which leads me to wonder how important the checking account is in the future.

Also if you have an E-Trade account, once verified, it takes 1 business day as well. Overnight transfer basically. I've tested it.

I use my E-trade (checking) account, seems really fast to transfer stuff to and from.

So far I love the app + website, but the ATM policy/network isn't as good as E-trade (they have a decent network, but since E-trade refunds ATM fees from others, it means *any* ATM is a free E-trade ATM). To get to a Simple ATM I have to check their app and usually walk a few blocks.

And you can't deposit checks by taking a picture of it like E-trade lets you do, so it's not a complete solution to banking. Maybe they'll get there some day.

Once they add the photo-based check deposit (it's been coming soon for quite some time) I think they'll be at a point I can use them as my primary bank account. I'd love to see them partner with an existing bank though to allow cash deposits.
