I have done a few internal company hackathons, but I'm curious to know what the public ones are like. Are teams formed beforehand? Do people come in with ideas ready to go? How much work is done on these ideas ahead of time? I am a mostly frontend developer who can write backend code and the occasional SQL. Is there a place for someone like me, or are teams typically formed around an idea person and a stud developer? thanks!
