Gee! This is the best. I am such a Soundcloud fan girl, and this update to their site just makes me fall for their brand even harder.

Re: Homepage - What a great, sunny vibe it gives off right away. And the people! Real people! How many sites do you hit and immediately see people that large?

Re: Site overhaul - This feels very much like what Soundcloud should have been "all along." Quite similar to the feeling I got when Foursquare finally revamped Explore. From the article: "New features include the ability to 'follow' for bands and artists, while sounds can be shared more easily, comments are real-time and there are more notifications."

I've been using the beta for a few weeks now and it's a totally new experience. I find myself spending time there, instead of purely grabbing links. They totally rethought their network and data and re-presented it in ways that are both subtle and highly effective. I'm so impressed.

As a musichunter who shares music almost daily (ideafreaksaremusicgeeks.com) I began to notice SC taking over when they released their beautiful embeds. That meant music could spread fast on their platform and when Tumblr anointed them with deep integration, artists began to migrate over. That said, as a user it was a tough site to navigate and organize.

They finally turned back to the user and made social discovery better. Big move that'll fuel more growth.
