Many people manage an assortment of social media platforms like a blog, Twitter account, of course Branch, and others.

When gauging how far-reaching your web presence is, which numbers do you check and which do you care about more? What's more important? Views? Subscribers? Participation?

I realize it depends on the platform and the purpose of the blog or twitter etc. but taking that into consideration what numbers do you like to see and where do they count (ha-ha) the most?

First off the bat, I am completely against your klout score, this is a number generated by a third party company that takes into factors your views, retweets, posts and followers not only on twitter but other platforms as well. This is a ridiculous number and because of it some people are not getting hired. (Please see the article link below for more information of this claim) From there we must acknowledge that retweets and followers are a good thing, but both can be a spambot. There are many spam accounts that follow people, a well know spam account that people enjoy is @horse_ebooks which snips words and sentences from different sources of the internet. To be continued.

Cont. I believe that the best way to understand your influence in social media, comes from the amount of retweets you receive on a tweet. An example is: tweeter zero has 50 followers, and 10 of those retweet, those 10 each have 75 followers and 35 of those retweet, this is until the web continues to grow. The more the tweet is retweeted the greater the number of people see it, and the more people are likely to follow tweeter zero. In the end if 500 people saw it, now 75 people are following the original tweeter, and from there more and more retweets of future tweets are populated. Sorry for the amount of tweets and retweets I used. Also please do not count the numbers up I just threw numbers in.
