There are a lot of aspects to the Joint Operating agreements between the Community Centre associations and Vancouver Park Board. We are looking for an agreement that best serves the Citizens of Vancouver. 1 pass all Centres and Equity across the system are two great things that will benefit people. We want to work with CC associations to bring the level of service up across the City and continue all of the amazing unique programs to each centre.

Sarah -- Sure hoping that there will be a clearer explanation on Monday of what the associations will still be able to do, what they won't, how money will be distributed more fairly in a way that isn't just about taking money from people who raised money for Kerrisdale and then shipping it across town. I've been wondering if a better solution isn't to have the park board to charge a small "rental fee" for every room that the associations rent out for a program and charges for. That way, park board recoups some of its costs for building and maintaining the centre. Centres that run more programs that they charge for pay a little bit more to the park board for "renting" the space.
