Brian, Excellent post. I've been working in libraries since I graduated in college in 1980. (MA Librarianship 1985) I have never made a rock star salary although I came close while doing a stint managing a corporate library in the early 1990s. But I have always loved what I do.
Connecting with younger librarians has been one of the best ways I've learned this year.

Thank you. What makes you want to stay in library land? And most of what I've learned in the last year all came from meeting fellow librarians and the sharing of thoughts and ideas. Its a big eye opener for someone (like me) who is very tech focused...and typically tech people are very guarded and closed. I much prefer librarians then the uber tech folks.
