Haha. Yeah, I've yet to figure out how I feel about rejecting people. A tricky road I haven't yet been down. Part of my issue is, I have no place to explain why I'm rejecting or to make explicit how I think the branch should take shape—which could provide some clue as to why somebody's proposal for their own inclusion doesn't meet my desires.

The underlying question, for me, is this: In starting a branch, am I an editor, a moderator, a contributor, a catalyst? I don't have a clear sense of the model, probably to @branch's credit: Flexibility, here, will probably suit the platform best. But I definitely find myself wanting advice or wanting to see a kind of set of common practices evolve.

Thats' something I struggle with, too. After starting/being in a couple of branches, I think the best results have come from a clear topic, good participants, as well as responses directed towards each other, rather than a Quora-like Q/A.

Being a catalyst is really about setting up the pins correctly, both for others and for you (As a contributor). We don't really have the ability to edit, but you could moderate by contributing and course-correcting. I wonder what things/functionality are necessary to make editing/moderating less stressful and more acceptable by all, even those who are edited out.

My fave Branches that I have started so far have been ones where I merely bring up the topic, open it up, and have everyone pitch in. To me, that's what I want most out of Branch...new POV's. I don't really want to be the moderator. I want to listen and exchange.

PS: I love how Medium/Twitter are integrated.

I do love the way that Medium utilizes profile pages and statistics. I would like to see a hybrid between Quora and Medium. Medium's simplicity, Quora's ability to add information.
