Yea Branch is way cool!

I like it because its a long-form discussion where people can join in and stuff. The "Take it to Branch" browser button is sweet. It allows you to port a twitter conversation here where the conversation can become more well-thought and stuff.

So this is like a side thread off the main one?

yea. Its cool because other people can join this branch, but they need approval to join from the creator, and they get about 100 characters to make a case for allowing them to join. Also this conversation is saved permanently so if we have a really good convo here which others might like to read, we can just link to it. But the branch can be closed to stop more people form writing. Only the creator of the branch can "conclude" it

yea sub-branches act as a way to not steer the conversation off topic. I like that aspect of it.

and you can just jump back to the original through your "drawer"...clever

although they should have called it your "stump"

haha. yes! One thing I love about Branch is that a few journalist I follow frequently have very well thought out discussions here and then when the convo is over, they tweet a link to read the discussion. In a lot of ways, those are the best because you see how these guys think in real time and how they counter each other arguments and support their own opinions about things. Its really cool.

Its a personalized quora or something, with Twitter integration. haha
