Here is the thing... I'm designing an app and I would like to make a prototype of it and I'm thinking use keynote. What should I use? Do you have some recommendations?

moqups.com is a great tool to create basic user flows. You can link pages with button clicks etc.. Go check it out! It was really helpful for us. And it's free!

IMO: There's nothing that beats the ease of use and efficiency of a pencil and paper to get the initial ideas out quick.

There are multiple options to prototype in the browser as well as native apps.

Omnigraffle is an incredible tool, but it's available only for mac. Adobe Fireworks is a worthy alternative for windows. Both of these tools have smooth learning curves, even if you are'nt familiar with them, you'll be able to grasp and use them in no time. For browse based tools - try balasmiq.

@rohitmuppidi Yeah, at start of my application I decided to sketch it in paper but now I need to make a prototype using Keynote or PowerPoint for people that use windows. I opened this talk to see what app people use to make a nice app prototype. Thanks for the help.

I have been using balsamiq in the past and I think it does what you want (in case you don't need to show the actual design). It is perfect for designing the functionality both in layout of each screen and the flow.

I haven't used this tool yet, but hear it is the best out there: axure.com. Works on PC and has an online (protected) sharing facility.

Have you tried Invision? It allows you not only to create a mockup, but the mockup is fully interactive.

If you can use Keynote, Photoshop, Fireworks or Illustrator to create your screens, export the screens as PNGs and then import them into Invision where you can add functionality.
