The Pixel Crafters barn raising meetup is on Thurs, Nov 22 at 6pm at Malone's.

What is Pixel Crafters? What do you want this group to become? Let's talk about working together on different pieces of infrastructure and support to keep growing our local community.

Add your thoughts on what you'd like to work on or what you think needs work in our community.

Here is a general thought I've been throwing around in my head.

Polyglot is a group to help developers learn multiple languages.

I'd like to see Pixel Crafters to be a "polymath" group. Help people learn stuff outside their wheelhouse. Programmers learn design. Designers learn to program. Everyone can always learn more about distribution, sales, marketing, etc.

Good one Kaler. We should do that. Small group- hands on.

How late do you plan to be at Malone's? Don't think I can make it down until 7pm or later

So far I like the things Pixel Crafters has been doing. Startup drinks, the welcome wagon and having a central calendar for all of the events relevant to the startup community. It's also great to have a single place to send people who are interested in getting started with Vancouver's startup community.

I'd like to avoid the meetup group duplication, but some of that doesn't seem entirely like it can be avoided.

Pixel Crafters probably works best as the central group for Vancouver's startup community at large.

Thanks to everyone that attended tonight. Let's try and create a separate thread for each initiative, plus I'll invite people to a central Basecamp project so people can coordinate.

I am really sorry I couldn't make it last night like I said I could. Life conspired against me.

I can't wait to see what comes of this and find something I can help with.
