Is there still a place for New Year's Resolutions in today's world? Is it a lost art that we should give up on or does it have some meaning?
I think that the idea of "New Year's Resolutions" has been ridiculous from the start, although I understand why people make them. In theory, people believe that the start of a new year allows them to make a new start with their lives or change something that they've been wanting to change. The idea of the New Year's Resolution is more of an excuse than anything, really.
Instead of New Year's Resolutions, we should just be making change. If someone has something they want to change about themselves or something that they want to do with their lives, instead of waiting for a new year, resolve to just do it. Waiting to make a change is just an excuse.
I'm sure it works for some people, but really, people should strive to better themselves.
