Thierry Guetta recreated himself as an artist character after following around street artists like Shepard Fairey (Obey) and Banksy, recording footage of them working. He came home from filming and hung a "street artist" sign on his door. He pays other artists to create the work he envisions and made over a million dollars at his FIRST art opening by creating buzz. Is he an Art Hack or Creative Genius? Personally, I am leaning towards "Genius" and here's why: Through exploring the theme "brainwashing" in his work, he has, essentially, brainwashed the entire art community into thinking he is a visionary.
