The book for October was Morning Glories, Volumes 1 & 2.

Have something to say about the introduction to this mind-bending and mysterious series?

I like it, but I guess I can see why some people might not. I does, especially at the beginning, seem to be a bit obtuse for no good reason. However, I've been through it twice and it's actually pretty interesting to read when you've got a bit more context.

Also, I get the comparisons to Lost (it's also clear they are shooting for that) but once it gets going it seems to move away from that a bit. And, for what it's worth, I was never a huge fan of Lost. I found it directionless and meandering and tensionless.

I don't see Morning Glories the same way. Again, it could be because I'm further along, but I find some of the mysteries and characters pretty compelling, if not especially deep.

I also think that much of the confusion and unease we as readers go through at first, is intended. You're just as confused, at times, as the characters in the book, and I think that helps you bond with them a little.
