I looked away for a second and must have missed her.

MSNBC is reporting "More interest in Ryan's speech than Romney's." To be fair, though, they put the poll in the field before it was known that Bruce Vilanch and Marc Shaiman would be punching the thing up.

The whining about lost jobs in dying industries just kills me. Help save coal-mining jobs? Job creation from pipelines? Really?

Question about the walkup to the convention: Was Romney's dumbass birther joke a dog-whistle, or is he just so tone-deaf that he doesn't understand the things he says? This much I do know: He seems like the most dangerous kind of unfunny person, i.e., the kind who thinks he's a sketch and people just don't get it.

Pete Wilson casts all of CA's votes for a "great example of American exceptionalism, Mitt Romney." Okay.

College-age youngest member of CO delegation urges young persons to "get involved and take this country back." That's a phrase that always has a nice, welcoming, we're-all-in-this-together kind of ring.

All I have to do is hear Jan Brewer's name and I get punchy.

Iowa for Ron Paul!

Nasty little over-emphasis to "In Kansas, we CELEBRATE success." Right. Because the current president is clearly pro-failure.

I know I'm on the wrong side of history here, but when did the political opposition stop referring to the sitting president as "President Lastname," and start just calling him "Lastname"? It's disrespectful, no?

There's that word again "deserves" - argh....

This weird juxtaposition didn't do much to make the Romney campaign look anything less like Amateur Hour -- didn't anybody at the campaign vet these speeches beforehand?

I'm sure others have pointed this out, but with the Paulists and Tea Party folks running amok, doesn't this feel like the '64 convention when the Birchers were everywhere and weren't especially nice about it? The big difference of course is that in this convention, they're nominating Rockefeller instead of Goldwater.

One Paulist, at least, isn't personally running amok: MSNBC reports that Ron Paul has actually left town. He didn't even stick around for Jr's speech.
