Hi all! I'm a gradstudent at the MIT Media Lab Center for Civic Media.

At MIT and the Berkman Center for Internet and Society, people research, design, and imagine the role technology is coming to play in society. My main connection is to tech, research, law, and journalism, so I'm excited to finally meet Christians & Christian orgs who care about these things.

I'm keen to create tech & community for better cross-cultural understanding and cooperation. As part of that, I want to connect and empower Christian makers to find and support each other internationally.

Hi, I'm a software engineer at Amazon where I started a group studying the Theology of Technology (ping me to get added to our Facebook group). I'm passionate about technology entrepreneurship for the gospel, and would like to promote three specific initiatives:

1. Ubiquitous multilingual churches - what if worshiping God in many languages together (like we did at Urbana12) became the norm?
2. Worldwide biblical literacy - What if people around the world could remember the whole counsel of God?
3. Personal relationship management - What if technology could help you not simply connect with people, but cultivate healthy relationships?

I direct new media for InterVarsity and Urbana. I've lived in Nicaragua, China, & South Africa, and my wife and I wrote a book on the hard calls of Jesus as we re-entered US culture amazon.com.

Networks: InterVarsity is 1500 staff, 40K students, & 250K alumni, plus Urbana's. I'm on an advisory group for InterVarsity and World Vision, and I'm a partner speaker for WV.

Skills: l lead people well. I brainstorm like a crazy fool. I bring a sensible Jesus-focus to teams. I'm not an tech guy. I do relationships.

Projects: I'm slowly building InterVarsity and Urbana social spaces with limited time but with very high connection. I want normal people to see how social tools can help them reach their friends.

I manage business development for various new ads at Google. I'm also coordinating an effort across Silicon Valley techies, churches and parachurch orgs to shape apps around biblical truth. We're holding visioning sessions under the name "Shaping Tech for Him" and actively developing a prayer app. We're connected to players in market (YouVersion for bible access, Global Media Outreach on evangelism).

Interests: Biblical, Spirit-led innovation and disruption.

Random notes: Spent 5+ years doing humanitarian work in Africa and adopted twins from Congo, love mountaineering and cooking, am an economist by trade and had my deepest encounters with Jesus on a homeless pilgrimage in San Francisco.

I manage the finances for a global citizen media network called Global Voices Online. Prior to that, I spent over a year in Japan, several months in France, and a year in Congo on short-term missions (Kinshasa) working with Mission Aviation Fellowship. Their Rising Voices program supports communities around the world to start blogging in less well represented languages.

Greetings all, sorry for the delay in response, trying to recover after Urbana / dig though the pile of emails in my inbox!

I am the Web Developer and New Media Coordiator at IFES. IFES links together 157 different student movements, including Intervarsity. My role includes a lot of code, design, and social media. I am in the process of exploring online community and sharing.

One expression of this is building a platform to enable students, staff and supporters within IFES to share resources. The idea behind this is that all of these people are producing fantastic resources [including Bible studies, videos, photos, websites, prayer letters, etc] that could be used within student ministry around the world if more people had access to them.
