I was reading this book about history of philosophy, and it got my attention that in the Baroque era there were many thinkers who got this idea about how life's too short, and that everything that's beautiful and radiant one day it would get old and wither the next one (I've gotten a much better concept of the 'chiaroscuro' in baroque paintings).
Then I read 2 famous phrases in Latin from this era: 'carpe diem' (seize the day), and 'memento mori' (remember you're going to die).
This way of thinking is shared by many now, specially young people, who think they should live to the fullest, in spite of the consequences. Living the present because you never know if there'll be tomorrow. Specially when changes are happening so fast lately.
