It occurred to me the other day that it's the site's 5th birthday in Feb / March next year (bit sketchy about the actual conception date but the 1st post was in March).

Would be nice to mark the occasion somehow so if anyone's got any bright ideas, let's get a discussion going.

Throw a gig / go to a gig / go the pub / eat some mushrooms.

Would be good to get readers (there are readers, right?) involved somehow.

Throwing a birthday bash is a good shout. Maybe do some kind of ticket giveaway. Do we have a facebook page? i know it's kinda the devil, but tis a good place to engage with the public.

And if we organise it around now maybe us foreigners might be able to go!

An album you say? That's quite a shout. We could do a mixtape of our favourite tracks from the site and ask the bands if they could allow us to give it away free. Or do a reader poll and let them decide.

A compilation album of our favorite artists would be fantastic! Why not asking all the artists who end up in the top 15 of 2012 to submit a track for the compilation?

I like the compilation idea, might put out a few feelers around that. Maybe a gig too but I'm less keen on that, purely because I've been a promoter & I know what's involved!

Cool. We've not been that great at covering Adam's stuff but might be worth a try. I think we know enough labels / bands to get something pretty decent together. I'm thinking it might be nice to do it as a charity fundraising download. Thoughts?

Charity fundraiser is great idea. I propose one of my own songs from earlier this year, because I'm an attention seeker and have to get music out there somewhow. It's also how I ended up getting involved in this lovely endeavour...... HA!

I only spend one or two hours a day on weekdays taking photos and post them on the train (or at work - shhh). And sorry to swamp your IG feed - 30-40 a day is rude :/

Charity download is a cracking idea. Sounds like the cover is sorted anyway :)

Did you do albums of the year for each of the 5 years? Might be interesting to revisit those and see what the bands have gone on to do.

I think we did, I'll have to comb through the files from the old site, it's a nice idea though.
