How about education in your contries?
It's really hard for parents in China to get their children educated.

The article is striking. Yet I wonder, do you live in China? Is this whole "briving for learning" percieved by mayorities as bad o is it a whole new cultural ´thing` that is occuring? (thats the cultural question)

I´m from Colombia and know little of China. Here, (zai zher) students get ´an edge`, in their education if and only if their parents can pay for a "private school". Public schools are rather bad. (Very bad, actually). So then parents have to pay for private schools which are indeed costly. So.. you aren´t really briving anyone, but you ARE paying extra..
Conclusion:
Could yo parallel the two? China-Colombia (pay for ed - models)
- Do you think its bad? I personally hope all were free.

Hi Juan,
Yep, I live in China. And I'm afraid that most people here accepted this bribery thing as a matter of fact.
And as to the "private school", I think it's different in China. Most parents send their children to public schools, and then, if lucky, to PUBLIC colleges or universities via more entrance examinations. Only those kids of rich families are sent to private schools. But most parents of these kids are planning to send them abroad.
Hope you can see the difference between the two countries.
Yes its basically the same idea, broader public education, and also private for the higher class, it seems?
Yet it´s so weird that capitalism seems to be "entering" the Chinese public education service in a way, with these bribes right?
Would you say this is like an "extreme type of capitailsm?
