I've been thinking about a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Do I need to let this feeling pass and buy an iPhone 5?

My house is full of iMacs, Mac Minis, Old PowerMacs and Powerbooks, old iPods, New iPods, iPod touches and iPhones. Also an ipad 2 that I love and use like a laptop. and of course more than $800 dollars in apps invested. BUT... recently I bought a Chromebook and I owned an old HTC EVO that is rooted with a unofficial Cyanogenmod 10 Rom installed and works great with Jelly bean. Android is feeling very good now days and the Chrome lineup is not bad and my wife love it. When I saw the GS3 I like it and the idea of the Galaxy Note 2 doesn't sound bad in my mind right now... I just want to know if this kind of switch is an uncertain change of paths that I will regret in the future instead of going to the iphone 5 and keep it functional. WDYT?
The good point is you have an iPad so you won't "loose" the money invested in the AppStore.
I don't like the cheap plastic feeling of most Samsung phones. It give me the feeling of holding a toy.
What do you enjoy the most about the GN2 ? Maybe an other Android phone is more adapted to you.
LG also have a Phablet phone (from what I heard, I'm not sure I would recomend it). HTC announced a phablet with the awesome resolution of 1920*1080 pixels (440 density) with a quad-core Qualcomm S4 chip.
I'm waiting to read a few tests to have feedback about :
- Battery life (screen et chip power consumption)
- Fluidity (chip power / screen res)
Or maybe a Nexus 4 would be good for your needs.
I honestly don't want to switch completely but is the first time Android products are becoming interesting enough to make me think. I remember how good was Archos devices were at the beginning then Apple create better devices and then I quit Archos for ever. Google Nexus and Chrome concepts aren't bad. Apple still the best option IMO but this time Google is showing innovation more than ever and I wanna be part of that. is it worth to try other brand than Apple at this moment? that's what I'm worry about.
