How do you create?
When and what do you post? What meta-data do you include (location, caption, hashtags) and how frequently do you include it?

How do you consume?
Do you use the explore tab, and if so, how frequently? Do you browse hashtags? Locations? Strangers' profiles?

What are the contours of your Insta-graph?

Who do you follow? How does your Insta-graph compare to your other graphs? When do you decide to follow someone? Do you Insta-stalk?

What do you wish you could do on Instagram?

Follow places? Follow hashtags? Where would that content show up? Would you want it to work the same way as following a person? Would all posts about that location show up in your main stream? In notifications? In the explore tab?

I rarely take photos of people: instagram.com (though this is in stark contrast to how my sister and her friends use the service: medium.com)

I've actually been adding location information quite frequently, making me wish the app would auto-check me in on Foursquare (I've actually used Foursquare less as a result).

My "graph" is a more curated version of my Facebook graph. I unfollowed almost all Twitter (i.e. tech/professional) folks, as well as Facebook friends who I don't care much about.

I don't use hashtags though I hear the communities around them are quite popular, and "Explore" doesn't interest me.

I love Instagram for its inspirational visual imagery. For me Instagram is not about a friend graph. If the person I'm following is not dedicated to taking good pictures, I'm not that interested in following them.

I post interesting moments and places I see and usually include every bit of information I can - location, hashtag, caption.

I go to the News tab and look at who I'm following and what they're liking. I'll often explore new people from there and follow them if I see they have a interesting/consistent visual voice.

My social graph is made up of 85% interesting visual storytellers and 15% friends.

The one thing missing from Instagram is a re-post function. I see a lot of great content, I'd love to share with my followers.

1. I post mostly real time.

2. I typically include a hashtag, location and some pithy statement.

3. I consume by mostly look at the people I follow and hashtags. I also tend to follow people who share my interests, design, photography, craft beer.

4. I wish I could see more pictures from a specific place would be interesting. Or some kind of "your friend bob also took photos from location x"

I only use instagram for photos that I personally thought were 'good' either composed well or lucky shots of something amazing.

I rarely use comments or hashtags, and I like that, even more so than twitter it takes away geo barriers as a communication tool.

I also really like the photomap and wish that I could share that more easily with others, I'm assuming that my profile will eventually support photomap sharing.

Although I use it as a travelogue I still use path as an archive because it includes more than photos as media.

I usually checkin to foursquare but less so on Instagram than on path, again very happy that the data from photos taken and posted as later grams are generally geotagged correctly.
