A new approach, your input is requested: not a debate about whether videogames make people go out and kill; not a debate about whether videogames should be censored, or whether they are art, or any of the same old pointless, polarized debates. Instead, a search for new ideas for ways that game developers can play a more constructive role in society through our game designs - specifically to reduce gun violence in the US. As a start, there are two, mutually compatible ways to think about this: 1) designing games specifically to address the issue; 2) being conscious and deliberate in the design choices we make for games regardless of their subject matter.
