There are so many things that are just a little odd about PhpStorm, the one that's killing me at the moment is how to make it keep the tab that I'm working in open - it always seems to be the first to close!

Got any tips, tricks or pet peeves about PhpStorm?

Hmm thats interesting. Not a problem I usually have but no doubt I'm working slightly different to you. How are you closing tabs at the moment?

Tab limit 15, Close Less Frequently used files, Activate left neighbouring tab. Show tabs in single row.
So I'm not closing tabs myself, it does, but the real issue is that it constantly shuffles the tab I'm working on out of view - only 5 typically fit on a screen even though up to 15 are open.

Ahhh thats probably the difference. I don't really notice the Close Less Frequently Used tabs option. I tend to close tabs I'm not using fairly regularly so thats probably why I'm not hitting the limit.
