Federal elected representatives do not have to abide by the laws that they enact for the rest us.
Ex:
Until recently federally elected officials could act on insider information for financial gains.
Currently all federal elected officials have there own health care plan and do not have to use the health
care system that they set up for the rest of us.
Quest:
There are others items that could be noted here, but the question that I am raising here is:
Why is there a different set of rules/laws, benefits & perks that are not available to us mere mortals?
Why do the people that we elect to represent us in Washington not abide by the same laws that they write/pass for the rest of us?
Why are there these exemptions in the law for them?
