Trying out Branch for the first time! I'm new to the platform, so my intention is to have a fun, lighthearted conversation about some fond childhood memories. That said, let the games begin! So my question is, What was your favorite childhood television show?
I'm a Wonder Woman FREAK! (Pun intended.) But, as a little kid, I loved Lynda Carter and I thought that it would be AWESOME to grow up and be Wonder Woman.
LOL! Jan Michel Vincent FTW! I loved Airwolf, too! Of course, I wonder how he managed to keep supplies for his military helicopter that he had at his personal disposal . . .
LOL! I see that I'm going to have to go check out some vintage television . . .
I liked Mission Impossible, too. Not the original . . . they had a remake of the series in the '80s. I was super-dee-duper impressed that the girl on the team was named, "Shannon". I felt like it would be easy to take her spot when she got tired of being a super spy, then. LOL!
one of my all-time favorite shows was from the early 90s, called The Pretender. i don't know if anybody else watched it or loved it as much as i did. we used to watch it together as a family during the week, when i was growing up. does anybody else remember this?
I didn't see it; but, the promo seems vaguely familiar. What was your favorite thing about the show? Who was your favorite character?
the main character, Jarod. he was sort of the prodigal pretender, if you will. excelled beyond all others. he was (and still is, in my opinion) one of the better role models from that era of television. every single episode, he became a different person in a different profession, and used his skills, his intellect, and his heart to help someone in need, just because he had the power to. very comparable to McGuyver, when you think about it. all the while, however, he's constantly on the run from The Centre, who are trying to get him back so they can harness his skills for their own gain. not to mention, he's always trying to figure out who he is, where he's from, and how to find his birth parents. wonderful show, highly recommended.
Sounds like a good show. Not sure why I missed it . . . but, I'll have to give it a shot. You had me at McGuyver! LOL! I loved that show . . .
My favorite childhood tv show was Power rangers, the firts season. You know. And my favorite character was Billy, the blue ranger.
I know that sounds a little gay hahaha but...
So, i liked Thundercats too. And He- man!

Hey, I like a series about a strong, authoritative woman that would go around tying random men up wearing nothing but a bustier, undies and knee high boots. Nobody thinks that's weird . . . And, a LOT of people liked those shows.

My favourite programme growing up was an Australian show called Heartbreak High.
I also loved the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles :-D So not girly!
Excellent subject, even if reading some of these replies make me feel really old.
But for me, it's all about M*A*S*H*, Archie Bunker, The Jefferson's. What great characters. Another is WKRP in Cincinnati. I wanted to be Hawkeye Pierce, George Jefferson, Dr Johnny Fever and Venus Flytrap all rolled into one... Hell I probably am.

I have fond memories of He-Man and Transformers - but also M.A.S.K. and on the Anime side, Robotech and Captain Tsubasa
My program favorite is called A COVE, transmitted by the CNN channel.. It is one of the best programs of interviews of the world:)

I think my favorite childhood television show was Star Trek. It made me want Captain Kirk to be my dad, even tho my dad was awesomesauce himself. I loved the idea of exploring and science... and it had "SMART GIRL CHARACTERS!!!!" Amazingly inviting.
