What are some things you wish you had known earlier? If you could share some pieces of advice with younger engineers (still in school or just a few years out), what would they be?

I wish I had realized earlier how important surrounding myself with excellent people was. Early on in my career I so enjoyed just hacking on stuff and learning things by myself that I missed out on the ability to take advantage of what others had to teach.

I like to think that although I probably did several things wrong, I enjoyed learning along the way. If I went back and gave myself advice, I'd probably make things worse and mess up the space time continuum.
