For many there is a link between ADHD & Depression. But is it causational or comorbid? For the past two decades I have been told my Depression was comorbid, but recently I have begun to wonder if perhaps it is instead caused by ADHD.
You may know of the "Depression after success" aspect of ADHD where hyperfocus wanes at the completion of a project and the mind flounders for focus, but could the link run deeper? Is the battle to organize our thoughts leaving us exhausted and prone to Depression?
Let's talk about that link and discuss possible coping strategies to manage the Depression for better mental health.
Note: ADHD med side-effects gave me Chronic Motor Tic Disorder. I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy techniques to cope.
