Did you watch it? It was so funny. I liked how the used "the show within the show" to talk about the show.
Typical Abed being meta. October 19 is officially a state of mind :p
I have to be honest: I have mixed feelings about this being promoted on the Community Facebook page.
Obviously this video is showing how ridiculous NBC's sudden withdrawal of Community's long-announced premiere really is...but a big part of that build-up was the Facebook page. Now the Facebook page is promoting the video, and it feels a little disingenuous.
Oddly, this really seems like the kind of video that would be made on The Soup (which has made fun of NBC's lack of promotion of the show in past years) rather than on the official NBC channels. I think the short is brilliantly written and acted, but I'm more than a little confused by the official promotion of it.
A nice gesture would have been not firing the show's creator. Or not delaying the third season's second half. Or not moving it to the Friday death slot. Or actually airing it when they said they'd air it.
It's too late for a nice gesture. I have a gesture I'd like to show them.
Anyway, I would like to put forward the idea that they just end the show altogether. I know they won't, because they spent money producing episodes of season 4, but it's nice to hope. The season 3 finale was originally written as a possible series finale. I think it was fantastic, and I think the show should end there. With all that resolution, and with Dan Harmon.
Loved the video, though.
