I've been loving the selection of beers at "The Gutter" in Brooklyn. A great rotating selection. A bit frustrating when you taste one you love and then show up the next week and its gone. But then there is something else just as interesting to replace it.
There's something about that though that's obviously appealing. Finding new styles and variaties of beers is part of the experience that I enjoy.

Pony Bar is a real good one. My all time favorite beer bar is Spuyten Duyvil in Williamsburg. I actually just got back from there! They usually have six rotating taps but the real joy is in their bottles. The bar tenders are immensely knowledgable and not TOO snobby and if you go on a quieter night are happy to talk with you about beer for as long as you want. They stock possibly over 100 rotating bottles from all around the world.
Another old favorite is Ginger Man near Murray Hill (though go on a week night because it gets very bro-y on the weekends) - maybe thirty different taps and more by the bottle.

I'm just back in London after my honeymoon in SF and NYC. Dragged my lucky wife to various pubs in both cities, including Blind Tiger on Bleeker Street.
They have 20 or so taps, and the Smuttynose Brewery were doing a mini beer festival the day we were there. Great bar food, and friendly staff. Find staff in similar bars in London can be snotty and patronising.
Really friendly crowd too, come to think of it. Had a lively debate with a guy about UK ale vs US beer. ;-)
I always love the taps @ the Habitat in Greenpoint. I can't recall if they are all craft beers, but the selection rotates very frequently and is always topnotch.

Burp Castle on 7th street near St. Mark's is a good one, but you have to come prepared for a quirky and silent experience (loud guests will be shushed).

Top Hops on the Lower East Side is pretty good. It's a beer store/bar combo with a great selection of both craft and imports. They do tastings and growler fills, and the bartenders are super friendly and knowledgeable. It can be a little expensive at times, but generally they have fair prices. It's better to go on a weeknight to avoid the crowds and also the general wasteland that the LES becomes on the weekends.

Upright Brew House just opened on Hudson St. and Perry in the West Village. They have a great selection of beers on draft focused on beers brewed within the 5 boroughs of New York. uprightbrewhouse.com
