Seems quite nice to me when backing up ~100GB of data. For around 1TB or more, an external HD seems much more cost effective.

Thoughts?

They don't seem to be targeting home back up, but obviously a compelling use case. Other benefit of this would be you don't have to plug in to backup. Though I guess Time Capsule would solve that problem.

I'm in a weird position with data right now where most of my local storage needs are actually shrinking due to moving to online services (itunes–>spotify was the big one.) Kind of crazy I spent so much money buying (/time ripping) music and now these are all files I might as well delete (i'll save them for a bit longer...) I'm also consciously shrinking because of the limited HD size of my air
